Adele F. Pruitt, artist and teacher, has been teaching for many years.  She was educated at San Francisco State University where she majored in art and education, and at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA where she distinguished herself with graduate work in art education, earning an M.A. in 1961.

She taught in the public schools of California at various grade levels for fourteen years, including 3 years at Mendocino College, until she established her own art gallery in Ukiah, CA in 1969.  She continued to teach painting classes for both beginners and advanced students with the emphasis on the use of methods and materials of the Masters.  She has lifetime credentials for teaching art in California.

Ms. Pruitt is now owner and director of Pruitt’s Fine Art Restoration in Ukiah, CA where she offers workshops for B.L. Haymond Supply and painting restoration services to the public.

Ms. Pruitt was associated with the Academy of Professional Art Conservation and Science in California for twenty-six years, first in Lafayette, then in Sonoma, and continuing after its move to Ukiah.  She worked closely with Professor William F. Haney from 1979 through 1994, during which time she has restored the works of such notable artists as Hudson, Keith, A.D.M. Cooper, Hondekoeter, Stewart, Schall, and hundreds of others.  Professor Haney considered Ms. Pruitt one of his most qualified restorers and competent instructors.
